Happy New Year! Its 2011!

I am excited! My horoscope said that Im going to have a great sex love life this year, so Im looking forward to that! Also I have so many goals...well the same ones I had last year so I plan to continue to strive towards those goals into this year. Even though I brought in the new year sick Im still here and grateful at one day to have a chance to live a full life. Also today marks the day that I will began my 101 Things In 1001 days list (which will be posted shortly). I saw this idea years ago on someone's elses blog and figured it would no time like the present to create my own list.

In Hair News

I will be participating in The MopTop Maven's Healthy Hair Challenge for the next few months. Haven't decided on which method I'll be using but Im leaning towards the Avurderic (sp?) because I've been having scalp issues for the longest and this seems like the best natural alternative way to cure this problem. If your not a natural hair or hair fanatic like I am this may sound silly to you but I've been natural for almost 2 years now and I know my hair could be healthier (no breaking, less split ends, etc). The longer it gets it seems that I need more maintenance and I have fairy knots like nobody's business. As they say when you know better you do better and I know better so its time that I start doing  better. Along with changing my diet because I know thats part of the problem too. I haven't been eating the healthiest and in 2011 I plan to get back to the old me because the new me hasn't been working out (literally).

Goals for January:

  • Stay on track with my healthy hair goals
  • Drink only water (excluding milk) everyday for the month, after today
  • Workout at least 3x a week
  • Make a financial budget
  • Create hair regimen
I think I will also create new goals montly this year and hopefully at the end of the year I will have accomplished a lot.

Until then...Stay safe! Enjoy your 2011!

Just Say "NO" To The Creamy Crack!

Was over at Curly Nikki and saw this funny video from one of my favorite new YouTubers CharJay. I don't know where she gets the time or energy to pop out these videos, but she did it again! Check the vid below:

Thanksgiving Hair

So my Thanksgiving was WONDERFUL! I spent some time in my hometown of Orlando, FL with family I hadn't seen in awhile and I had a ball =) Thanksgiving dinner, Disney, and home! Oh yeah I ate well...very well...I stayed with my grandmother, so let me mention she can throw down! Oh yeah and she also wakes up at the crack of dawn for a phone prayer circle and likes to cook breakfast while she's on the phone prayer circle. Amen! Now among alot of things I was worried that I would hear drama about my hair (along with my weight..mmh yeah working on that) but instead I was pleasantly surprised that there was no drama! INSTEAD everyone from my grandmother to my cousin loved my hair LOL. Everybody relaxs so I was sure I was going to hear it (drama) but apparently I have "good hair" LOL. Saw a cousin I hadn't seen in awhile and had just BC'ed 9 days earlier and she wanted to know all of my hair "secrets" lol. Then I saw another cousin, who came to the revelation that if she stopped relaxing her hair would grow and be better than what it is now LOL. Im just tickled at myself that I thought my hair would be the topic of discussion in a bad way and it turned out to be an inspiration to a few. Natural hair girls rock!

For my Thanksgiving hair, I used some KCCC on top of KCC Knot Today and it turned out great surprisingly! I think this was the best results Ive ever had using this stuff. Debating on if I want to pay the $26 for another jar, but this jar lasted me a good 1 yr and half (which I think you're suppose to use before then because the color started looking different than when I bought it a year and a half earlier).  BTW I lost one of my earrings at Disney on the Aerosmith ride the day after Thanksgiving, after I had just found it Thanksgiving morning boo hoo hoo =( Oh well..Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

It Aint For Everybody: Shea Butter

Am I the only natural haired lady out there that despises shea butter? When I first decided to go natural, I read and research just about everything because Im a product junkie at heart, so I like to see what works for other people. Now granted it may not work for me, I still try it anyway just to test it out. Im going to say 9 out every 10 people used the beloved, shea butter at one point or another and LOVED it. So what did I do? Yep, went out and bought some damn shea butter from my local beauty supply. I used it straight, mixed it, whipped it, and I guess I could never get it quite right (along with not liking the smell of it). The nutty, old smell of it...just yuck! Then when I would put it on my hair it would just sit on top like a place mat on a table. I will admit I've bought products that contained shea butter and they worked just fine but plain on shea butter doesn't do anything for me. Feels like someone telling me about a good movie and when I actually go to see the movie its wack! But as they say everything ain't for everybody though we go and try it anyway. Anybody else out there feeling this way about shea butter?

My Grievances

I am tired. No I am exhausted. I also went to bed at 10:30 last night not because I had to but because my body woudn't let me stay up past 10:30. Working these 2 jobs has really put a damper on my sleep time (not that I slept that much anyway) but everyday I get up I wonder "HTH am I going to make it through the day?". I think I literally ask myself that every other minute up until my first 15 min break when I can try to squeeze in a 10 minute nap to reenergize. I promise myself more sleep on lunch but that never happens because I always seem to have stuff to do and next thing you know my hour lunch is over. So Im exhausted and unhappy with my job per usual. Ha! Ive been unhappy for quite some time now but now that they've moved me over to another office and I started working with a She-Devil (who Im convinced is plotting with my supervisor to get rid of me) I've been even more unhappy. It has gotten to the point that I just stopped speaking to her, well no more than I have to. She's rude, annoying, borderline unprofessional if she couldn't qualify as being unprofessional, and Im on the verge of going to HR about my work situation. My supervisor has asked me about it but I really don't think she has my back like she says she does. We're ok better than before but I don't trust her. This 2nd job is really killing me too, but I need the extra money. Damn it truly sucks to work two jobs and STILL not be in the same pay range with people who barely know how to turn the computer on FML. But in great, awesomeness I will soon be a business owner, so whenever these bishes decide they want to let me go I'll have more time to work on something I want to do and be my own boss. I may even have my dad coming over to help me out and I may be working with him. Yep! Im a daddy's girl so that's not a problem. Well Im off to pick up my check, since these idiots at my 2nd job can't get my direct deposit right. Ugh!
